Chairman's vote of thanks?

Tangled up in Blue

Certified Senior Citizen⭐🦐
Come Monday I'll be expecting to see an announcement from the Chairman
on the OS thanking our fans for their magnificent support at Doncaster.
After all RM was quick enough to remind people of the importance of the
game-and to lay on free coaches to be fair.
Now our fantastic fans deserve their due from the Chairman too.
UTB,
Phil

He walked around the front of the stand before and after the game giving applause to us all but agree that he'll put out a message of thanks, not just to those at Donny but for the whole season.

pity the rest of the team (excluding 5 players, Tilly and Brushy) couldnt be bothered to come over at the end of the game.... pitch invasion or not!!!

I think that's unfair Craig, I fully accept what's been said above about the reasons for that. I hate pitch invasions and that's just another reason. The players have come and clapped pretty much win or lose under Tilly, and I'm sure if the pitch had been clear they would have come over on Friday night too. Fuss about nothing.

Agreed. If they managed to get through the crowd to us why couldnt the others? It is the end of the season for us as well and they couldnt come over and applaud?

i see your point and im sure they wouldve had done if the pitch was clear but at the time i thought it was poor... if the fans sing their hearts out for 90 minutes i would expect a few more to come over... you had barrett, clarke, macca, bailey and i think one more (possibly gower maybe it was)... the police had cordoned off a decent space between the away fans and the pitch invasion.. if ron martin can come down and do it then i would have thought more of the players couldve done...

but your right its not a great big deal but sometimes its the little things ...

I thought someone somewhere said Mulgrew did as well.

I really wouldn't hold it against them, the situation will have been completely alien to the majority of the team.

I'm guessing that we sold about an extra 1000 tickets thanks to the free coaches and fully applaud RM and the club for this gesture . It would have been awful to watch a half full away end squirm in silence in front of the rest of the nation .

Anyone know what share of the ticket sales the club gets ?

The players I saw were Clarke, Barrett, Bailey and Revell, along with Tilson and Brush... That said, I didn't stay for too long after the whistle as we had to attempt to escape the Keepmoat parking.

My son said Macca definitely came back out after initially having gone down the tunnel, but that quite a few supporters had already gone by then.

Having had a couple of those email letter things from RM last week about the game, I'm sure he will do something similar either that way or on the OS to thank everyone.

I have been watching this with interest as an outsider. This year we have sold out all but but 3 away games including Bournemouth on a tuesday, Bristol Rovers on a friday and Yeovil on a friday. We have had a couple of mentions on the website but they are all wrote by a press officer anyway, the best we got was a free programme. Surely the best way of thanking the fans is to do what your chairman did and make sure that you filled the away end in a vital game. How many hand on heart would have gone to the expense of making what by the sounds of it was a great away trip without him putting his hand in his pocket. As a fan of a club run under dictatorship you should be thanking your lucky stars that you have a fan in charge.

Amen to that. You won't be enjoying the Pro-Donnie Anti-Leeds bias on this board, I am sure, and I am afraid I am in the pro-Donnie camp for a number of (mainly historical) reasons but I do know that the vast majority of Leeds fans (as with every club) are nice folk with a passion, and I hope you get a ticket, have a great day out, and keep posting on here.

All the gate receipts from the 4 play-off semi-final games are taken by the Football League they take a cut & then the rest is divided between the 4 teams. So we end up getting part of Leeds gate receipts from their 36,000 crowd against Carlisle. Not quite sure on the %.

Cheers mate. I don't mind anybody having a favourite for the game, its always good to cheer on the underdog however i think that might be us at Wembley  . I have got a ticket and am so nervous already.
