Whilst we do need one I think our issues over the last two games a bit deeper than just the two centre backs. Midfield just as culpable for me, Gillingham just waltzed through us.

Only one of the 6 goals came in over knee height so not like they had to be 6 feet plus to deal with them either.

Thought these bids have been on the table for a while now as remember C Phillips mentioning this a week or so back. Either the bids are not being taken seriously or we need to get on with it and look at other targets?

If only this had been done in June! Seems we're now desperate, just hope we don't end up signing someone below par just to fill a gap and make a panic signing.

PB's signings on the whole have been poor since he joined, but the best have been in defence with Egan, Kiernan, etc so let's hope he can find another one now.

Neither sound like the aerially dominant centre-half we desperately need though.

Are these permanent moves we are seeking or just loan moves and kicking the can four months down the road?

Desperate need of central defender(s). At the end of last season I said I'd be extremely concerned if Thommo and Barrett were the first choice pairing. Can't believe that that would actually be the case.
Also, we are in desperate need of a central midfielder who can make an effective forward pass.
