Casting minds back to august

I remember coming on here after speaking to someone who works for the club who posts on this forum.

They told me that virtually no money would be spent this season, it would be consolidation this season, then money will be spent before next season to bring the squad capable of challenging for league 1.

All this in the hope that we could open the new stadium with our first game in the championship.

Dodgy game to play that i said!!!

Is this still the case? Anyone else heard similar.

So they were planning on making sure we had a crap season this year?

I doubt it.

Yes and Robert Milsom was a crucial signing in making sure this dream became reality. I have it on good authority that the Leeds result at home was seen as a disaster by the club because it raised supporter expectations. This came to a head during the Colchester game where RM sent down a message from the boardroom for the players to throw their two goal lead. Since then, we haven't looked back (sorry, forward).

Yup, I was told virtually the same by a club connection, toward the end of last season and RM has appantly taken the gamble that we can stay up 'on the cheap'. Now, with the 'New Stadium' receding as fast as our ' Play-off' chances, plan 'B' needs to be implemented poste-haste!
