If anybody needs a reminder why Spurs fans are hated throughout English football and beyond then this is it!

I'm not saying we will beat them, but they all now seem to have conveniently forgotten who we put out in R4. To55ers

Shouldnt count their chickens just yet.
"Spurs' name is on the cup!" - they might beat us at WHL but I think they are forgetting that they have another two games to win before they get their name on the cup.
I hope we beat them even more after reading those comments.

Well if we get a good 5000 fans there we can make plenty of noise!

Would love to see a second upset - it might be the only good memories for us this season if we end up going down!

lol we had 9.200+ at the hall on saturday and there was no noise

Yeah that is very true but I notice that the atmosphere is far better at the away games. Coz lets face it - its mostly the true fans that are up for it that get to the away games that realy want to get behind the team.

Its like the end of least season - as soon as the attendances went up the atmosphere wasnt as good. I have been at the hall with a mere 4000 ish fans and had an amazing atmosphere!

Very true Hartlepool Last year comes to mind when 114/115 people out sang the home supporters a fantastic memorie of mine as we all did the conga!!

Yes because people who go to every game and dont sing arent true fans are they.....

You certainly do get a lot of noise from away crowds (except Man Utd!) as normally you get the more hard core supporters going and theres more of a feeling of togetherness when you are outnumbered 10 to 1.

I tried singing like tuesday again saturday but unfortunately
my voice is still too croaky. I have been winding up the spurs fans here saying Man U only scraped past Crewe & then lost to us just remind me what the score was in normal time for port vale. I would love us to beat them but I expect us to go out.

Also how can Us at home be seen as easier than Wycombe at home?

They look at the Championship table & they think it easy to beat us, but I would fancy our chance of winning at WHL if we get our game plan right - Spurs are going to play in UEFA Cup on 14th then play on sunday then play Southend on Weds, so they will chop and change their side - Port Vale nearly pull it off, there is no reason why we can too. After all Spurs lost to Grimsby & Leicester in cup last year.

What a load of b******s! So, according to you, if one doesn't attend away games and get behind the team then one is not a true fan of Southend United?! The atmosphere will always be better as away fans tend to be congregated in one area of a football ground; it has nothing to do with a perceived level of loyalty towards the football club. That's why 150 or so Macclesfield Town fans can outsing 3,500 or so home fans a couple of seasons back. That's why one often feels that one outsings the home fans when, in fact, the noise is barely audible elsewhere in the ground.
