Campaign Meeting, 8pm Spread Eagle, Monday

Lord Football

Blues on Tour
Everyone, rightly, is angry, confused, upset, scared. However, a scattergun approach will get us nowhere.

A short notice demo at Roots Hall and Chez Martin
Random emails
Letters to Sainsburys
A plethora of facebook pages
Letters to the Echo

All good, but not co-ordinated.

If we are to run a successful campaign to oust Ron Martin (or whatever the aim is), we need some sort of co-ordination. We need a plan. We need to know what to do, when, how and who to involve. Some funds might be helpful as well.... for things like printing.

As far as I can see, we have a handful of days to safeguard our club. A winding up order or two being held in the next 10 days, a friendly game vs Ipswich, a press conference tomorrow - possibly more on the horizon.

What we need is everyone doing the same thing at the same time and in as many numbers as possible.

Could I therefore suggest some sort of public meeting is held in the next few days. We have many methods to get the message out (SZ being one of them). Lets get everyone working together, lets see what good ideas people have, lets get campaigning and lets have some action.

I am sure the Spread would take our hands off if we went there on Monday night and utilised their beer garden.

Views.

Totally agree, which is a firs between me and you.

I suggest everybody now send their letters to Sainsbury's (the aim is for them to take control and re-sell the club)
Then, i suggest as many people as possible, get to the press conference tomorroiw.. then on Friday en mass, protests to get Martin out.

J, we agree because is the one thing we ALL have in common. The best interest of our club. Petty internet differences need to be put aside by as all.

I am actually suggesting a meeting of our collective minds. Spread Eagle tomorrow night. 8pm should give the London based Shrimpers the chance to get home.

Good shout, i would love to - however i am not free til around 9 - due to other meetings, which i'm trying to conduct about the clubs future.

I will gladly come to a meeting. I haven't joined in a lot so far because of exactly that reason - it's all so unco-ordinated. If a solid campaign plan can be sorted and followed with set aims, methods and some semblence of cohesion, then I'm in.

ORGANISATION IS EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED.

We must start putting ideas together, but the 9th July 2010, is seeming to be getting more and more interest.
I have had an idea, why doesn't somebody on behalf of the zone and all Shrimpers, email the guys who are behind the get Glaziers out campaign at Man U. I'm sure they could direct us, if we need it, even maybe get involved a little bit, who knows?

Come to meeting the Dave.

When we did this with United For Southend, we had some amazingly good suggestions coming from ordinary supporters.

Exactly what is the aim, or is that why a meeting is being held.

Keep us exiles posted please.

Just been speaking to the promoter of the Brisbane v Everton game over here in a fortnight and am confident I may be able to get hold of a signed Everton shirt to donate for any raffle or auction to raise funds. A small gesture I know but at least it feels like I'm doing something

You can smoke in the garden :P

The meeting is going ahead. I've spoken to several people in the last few hours who have various strategies in place.

The aim of the meeting is to bring everyone together and get everyone working together. The ultimate aim of the campaign, that I believe is something that needs to be discussed tonight. My personal view is that we need to campaign to guarantee that we have a sustainable, properly funded League Two club playing in this town for the forseeable future.

A report from the meeting will appear here later tonight.

Good luck tonight LF. I've just sent some info out about this on the ShrimperZone Twitter feed.
