I am doing an airport run for someone, and they have asked me how much petrol is going to cost, I am going from Thorpe Bay to Stansted Airport and then to Colchester in my 1.25 Ford Fiesta Ghia.

Anybody got any ideas, with petrol lets say at 117p

I though it would be more than that, its about the same distance as mine in colchester to southend and back, but with added baggage weight in the car, so I was thinking it would be more.

Assuming it's your car, you should know how many miles you get to a tank, and how much fuel your tank holds. From that you can work it out...

Yes, but I am not used to having more baggage on board, so dont know how much of a difference if any that is going to make etc

Times the price of the petrol per litre, by the amount of miles you need to drive, and Bob's your father's brother :p

You also have to take into account how heavy the car is. MOst mpg figures are based on one person per car, the heavier your car becomes the more fuel it will use.

It's about 75 miles all told I reckon - ten to fifteen quid should cover it if you drive at a sensible speed...

Also you might need to take into consideration if they are friends or not - if they are, then I suppose it's 'Mates Rates'.
