Quote[/b] (EastStandBlue @ June 01 2006,15:05)]It goes -
Level 1 (1st4Sport Coaching Badge)
Level 2 (UEFA A)
Level 3 (UEFA B)
Level 4 (UEFA Pro License)
I have my level 1, and hope to do my Level 2 soon... Seems a great oppurtunity to get into management/coaching at the club and if i had the qualifications would jump at the chance.
I've been thinking of taking a football coaching course.
ESB, what level of fitness football talent do you need to be able to pass the badge?
Cheers!
Level 1 is a monkey course to be honest, even the trainers and coaches will tell you that. Its mainly a window into the ladder and teaching you the kind of skills to take onto Level 2.
Fitness levels help, but not a necessity. I was 17 when i done mine so youth helped me, but people who were clearly unfit still passed with relative ease.
You get a training manual with a number of exercises, and your pair are given one to teach to the rest of the group. You spend 1 day on 1 Weekend learning the theory side of the course, 1 night during the week on a Child Protection course. Then the next weekend, the Saturday you are taught the exercises and spend all day doing them with breaks in between... Then on the Sunday you do your demonstration using the group and an assessor marks you and passes you.
Level 2 though is much harder... Level 1 qualifies you to work with Children under 16 and is more designed to train Coaches of Kids sunday league teams so they don't harm anybody, whereas level 2 is the first rung of the UEFA ladder and is far more in-depth. You have to do 40 hours of logged coaching in between courses for Level 2.
