There's a pub just outside on Station Road, called I think The Railway.

I got the 6.20, and altho it was slow, it only took 30mins mire than usual... they kept telling us of problems up ahead

I'm glad you told me that as I took the quicker route home. I got to Fenchurch St and they said to use the other line so I did and got home at 7.40 as opposed to 8pm like it would have been.

I was on the Train that went bang at died at Laindon.. was the 5.05 from Fen st.. Lucikly a train behind was routed round and they let us get on that..so only a small delay.. I think that was three trains behind..The two immdiatly behind where fked.. Usual amusing incompetence when we pulled into Basildon on the wrong side and no one had told the people waiting on the platform there..

SARF - you must have got on the train I was on at Laindon. If at Basildon you had a scene where a young woman started berating the Security Guards who probably know as much as her and then they were set upon by a rotund TBM with buggy and obligatory hair pulled into a Pony tail.

If only they had moved when the train started to come into the station they would have made it, as it did not leave in a hurry and they had plenty of time to get across. But no lets vent our spleen at the security guards.
