Burger Sauce

Mad Cyril

The Fresh Prince of Belfairs⭐⭐🦐
I visited Waitrose, Sainsburys and Morrisons this weekend and none of them seem to sell burger sauce any more.

Am I looking in the right area (near the ketchup and mayonnaise) or has this product been phased out?

Only place I have ever seen it is at cosco's, but its not like I have been looking for it!

That's good to know but what about burger sauce for the retail consumer?

If I whip out a gallon of burger sauce at a BBQ what are my my guests going to think?

They are going to think i am one of those people that saves money by bulk buying food and purchasing trousers and shoes from Sunday supplements.

I just hope you aren't going to let down your guests by omitting to have vast stocks of the Southend rareity & delicacy of onions at your BBQ ;)

Suggestion: next time you are at a road-side burger van, get a mate to distract the bloke serving whilst you remove a bottle of burger sauce from the counter and stick it up your jumper. Have another mate revving the engine so you can both make a quick getaway. You can then pop the bottle in your fridge at home and enjoy the sauce at your leisure- not just burgers but sandwiches also. I reckon this may work Mad Cyril.

Or you could go to your local kebab van/shop and buy one from them

This man knows.

I bought several from Ali Baba's and KC's back in my younger days, when the chips and burger sauce craze started.

There is definetely some in Waitrose, a nice tomato and sweet chilli one.

Couldn't tell you where in the shop as I get it delivered, sorry.

After a bit of research I made my own based on a few web recipes.

Ingredients:

Mayonnaise.
Tomato Ketchup.
Squirty American mustard.
Finely chopped gherkins.
Dash of cider vinegar.

Authentic.
