Bucket Collections At Home Games

Youth Team
Some of you may remember that my son had a near fatal car crash in August 2009, he suffered a severe brain injury. he is still very very ill, and is still in hospital, well just moved to a nursing home,

We now take him out on trips,. His trips are limited to venues within walking distance of his nursing home in , in fact he has been to the last 2 home games which he really enjoyed.

We are trying to get a wheel chair adapted vehicle for him, so he can come home for home visits, holidays and the suck like.

We want to raise as much money as we can to put towards this, and thought a collection at the ground may help.

How do I go about organising this?

Thanks

I would suggest emailing the club (info@ etc etc), but you don't always get a response.... hopefully someone on here will PM you with a contact within the club.

Glad you are able to get your son to a few games. I went to visit the Marillac Hosptial in Brentwood that has many patients with severe brain injuries, it was a very powerful experience. I wish you all the best in getting a chair for him so that he can keep on attending games, get on holiday etc. I'm sure people will help out in anyway they can. A good bunch on here.

It might be worth you asking/talking to The Trust about this..they have regular meetings with Club and I am sure would bring it up on your behalf.

yep I'd suggest going through SUFC first, but if you don't get through then speak to The Trust.

All the best for your son and everyone concerned.

Suggestion: Post some pictures on here and ask one of the owners if they will administer any donations received via this site.

We tend to squabble and bicker a lot on this site, but I think you might be surprised at the generous response you may receive.

Ok with you owners?

To do a bucket collection you do need a street collecting licence, however, if you get permission from the private landowner (not sure if that's Ron or Sainsbury's in this case!) you can bypass that requirement. My advice would be to contact the club direct, for all those that knock, the people that run our club are actually pretty decent when it comes to stuff like this.

Best of luck with it

Thanks for the replies, if anyone has an email address within the club I'd really appreciate it.

Not sure how to post pics on here tho,
