BT20 - Season 21

MrB

Life President
With tough times ahead in both OD and FC, BT20 looks like our only chance of success this season so it's GFI all the way. We're traditionally rubbish at this format but the league doesn't look as strong this season so we'll be looking for a minimum of top 3.

Aggressive start to our campaign in a game we should win (though that counted for little last season).

End of Over 2: 29-0, runrate=14.50
Gichki 1-0-14-0
Cunningham* 10 (4 balls)
Sinethemba 19 (8 balls)

Having won 2 out of 2 in FC, I think that's going to be my main focus this season. However we have a fully fit sqaud at the moment, so it's pointless not to give BT20 a go for the moment. Therefore we have a full-strength side out on a GFI.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v elite dragons

We can tell you that BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking slow and low. Tough for everyone. Could be a low scoring match on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 12: 91-4, runrate=7.58
Wilkey 3-0-18-1
Geldenhuys* 5 (2 balls)
Mane 34 (24 balls)

Last Wicket: Govender Run Out 24 (FOW: 86/4)

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB has rested a couple, as they're down to Invigorated.

DIBS DIPPERS v Stumpys

We can tell you that DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 13: 99-0, runrate=7.62
Higgs 3-0-29-0
Minhajuddin* 62 (42 balls)
Hadland 36 (37 balls)

Can't see any reason why you wouldn't GFI in BT20, virtually no PFL hit it seems and good for morale.

Yep, that's what I found last season.

Anyway, we've started with a victory, although it looked a bit dicey at 29/4, 51/5 and 97/6...

BATTY SHRIMPERS v elite dragons

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: slow
And that's the end of the match. BATTY SHRIMPERS won by 4 wickets.
elite dragons 147-5
BATTY SHRIMPERS 151-6

-------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB came up just short in her chase, but it was a good effort with a weakened team.

DIBS DIPPERS v Stumpys

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: cracked
And that's the end of the match. Stumpys won by 7 runs.
Stumpys 184-0
DIBS DIPPERS 177-6

50+ run victory despite managing to select worthless/abysmal Alvardo to bowl!

Will address that before tomorrow's much tougher game.....

Tied my game yesterday. Giving this a real go this season after 3rd last season. Ranked 3rd, all about whether opps field weake ed teams

Entertaining game for me today, playing Vulgar Boatmen who we narrowly beat in FC recently. Green and PCH so not easy to bat on, we were rumbling along at 8 per over but a slothly innings from Lamey (17 from 30) combined with 3 runs from the last two overs meant we only made 136-5. They were cruising along before we put some tight overs in and left them needing 25 off the last two and I thought I'd won. Diggers then went for 18 in the next over putting them in charge but then the final over saw three wickets and just a single run for a 5 run win!

2 out of 2, not often I say that in BT20.

2 out of 2 for me so far as well, after a 32 run win today. Tomorrow we take on one of the other 4 sides with a 100% record.

-------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB lost again last night so is now 0/2

Looking a tad tough there Rich! At least you have three bots to play. Only one team to finish above to stay up effectively.

We had a relatively comfortable 10 wicket win and sit top with three wins. Only one other team on max points.

Two wins and a draw see me third. The title will be decided in my next group of games
