Bruno Brookes

I was sorry to hear about Bruno Brookes heart attack over the weekend.

For those too young to remember this man was once the brightest star in the Radio One firmament and used to present the top 40 on Sunday evenings.

He was also the smiling face on the cover of the 'Which way now?' booklet handed out to pupils about to pick GCSE options in the late 1980's.

Bruno has cited his smoking habbit as a major cause of the infarction and has pledged to give up.

I'll always remember him fondly for his part in the "cake" episode of Brasseye - from the look on his face when telling us about the dangers of "argue barmies" I've always been convinced he knew what was going on.

Edmonds was duped too but there was no doubt that where he totally believed the sh!t he was given to read about "Shatner's bassoon", Bruno, on the other hand, looked almost like he was in on the joke. It's the way he said that cake turned people "into space-hoppers for Christ's sake!"

I have the Brass Eye DVD and would recommend it to anyone who likes that sense of humor.....A true classic.

Bruno was duped along with Jimmy Greaves, A Basildon MP who's name I forget, Also think Phil Collins.......Classic....
