Brighton v Leeds Game Attendance..

How come there were 8,691 at The Withdean for this one?

Their average crowds for years now have been around 5,500-6,000 and I thought that this was just about the most they could get in that tinpot ground?..

I expect there was a good turnout from Weed's but surely not 3,000 of them, the away end doesn't hold anywhere near that many does it?

Has extra seating been installed or something?

I'm Confused?

Good point - I thought their capacity was 7,000-ish.

Me too..

But, I've just seen that the official capacity is 8,850

So all this **** they spout about what a massive club they are, and how they can't get more in The Withdean because of the capacity restrictions is bollocks.

If they wanted to they could average around 8,000 home fans, leaving around 850 for away fans, which I believe is the capacity of that ramshackle scaffolding area, they call a seated area, behind the goal..

Big club, my ****.

Come out of the woodwork to see Leeds more like it!.

whilst stuck in traffice on m1, on the other side of the motorway way a coach full of leeds scum. saw my scarf hanging of the window and they got a bit excited. i ****ing hate LEEDS!

There were plenty of empty seats in the home end when we played there last month, 8500 capacity sounds about right. Some of their fans must be fed up with the awful stadium and only attend 'big' games such as Leeds

lets be honest.

If we played at the Withdean then we'd be running well below capacity as well. From the pictures I've seen of it, it's a godawful place with a sh!t view.

I have just read this out to Mrs Sussex by the Sea, Smiffy - she says "change the record" and you will be getting the verbal equivalent of negative rep, next time you see her. SZ regulars should know that Smiffy has links to the Brighton area and is actually a closet fan of the Seagulls.

BHA did raise their capacity before the start of last season but I believe this is the first time they have filled the ground. Leeds had the same number of tickets as we did, about 1000.

Mr Benedict is correct, we would not sell out if we played in that awful ground, which is more expensive to enter than ours. There are many former regulars who now go to matches infrequently down here but whom I am sure will be back for every game when Falmer is built. It will be interesting to see what the comparative attendances are when the teams are playing at Fossetts and Falmer: my guess is that BHA's will be higher.

Ah Master Peck, always the comedian aren't we..

You dish out more tripe than a can of Butchers Dog Food.

I think most on here that know me, are fully aware of my feelings towards our seaside cousins from Sussex, and it is certainly not a friendly one (with the exception of Mrs SBTS and family, of course!)
