Not the type that you get fixed to your teeth to try and straighten them but the variety that the likes of Scrounger wears to help keep his trousers up.

Are these acceptable?

Seen some bloke in my office (non-important person) wearing them & looks like a right tool.

Braces with black tie / morning suit is just about acceptable. And I can certainly see Toddy sporting them in an attempt to impress the ladies.

But braces with a lounge suit are wrong - end of.

For me depends what is being worn, I always liked the look of braces ala the Skins, found this interesting picture on the net of Southend High Street back in 1979.
