I normally use MacDonald Avenue. Never tried on Boxing Day but it hasn't let me down before. Failing that Civic Centre and walk back? If you use the CC watch out for the ticket machines if you have to pay. They have a habit of not accepting money and its card only. No prob if you have a card on you!!

Will the lack of Abelio trains make that much difference? I'm the same as RHB - I use MacDonald avenue, and if there's no spaces I just work back along the ladder until I get one. Even at sold out games when I'm running late I've never had to go beyond Inverness.

Thanks. I'm thinking street parking might be harder than usual so we'll try to arrive early. Ta.
I usually get the train so it's not usually an issue for me

All the car parks on Vic Ave/civic/old library ought to be open and free for BH day parking.
Weather will be mild, pubs open so maybe lots of designated drivers, walkers and such. Good luck folks.

Let's hope the catering staff have brought in another firkin or two for the game. And it is suitably chilled.

Don't forget Hamlet Court Road/A13 junction car park as well.

If there are no trains, park at a rail station!

Dont think they are free on BH - only Christmas Day I believe. I usually use Civic Centre - go underground if top level full. Its £2.40 for 3 hours.

Southend Borough Council car parks appear to charge 365 days a year according to the SBC website as it does not shown any exceptions for Christmas Day, Boxing Day or Bank Holidays. So please check the machines before you amble off assuming it is free, the CEO's will no doubt be about.

Also check any residents parking zones as, I believe, they also operate regardless.

There is no charge Christmas Day and Good Friday; all other Bank Holidays you are required to pay.

Park in Priory Park or the back entrance to the tower block in Jones Close. You also have the car park in North Road not do much the free one but the one next to the cemetery and the school (it never gets checked).

If you don't mind a ten minute walk there are usually places available in the roads off Sutton Road, places like Ruskin Avenue etc.
