Bothroyd to the Scum

This aappointment sends out a very clear message to the rest of the league. Colchester United mean business, we know what we want and we have the resources to go out there and get it.

I have no doubt that once the dust settles, their will be positive spin-offs for all the local, less fortunate clubs.

Wrong, Colchester United do not have the resources, however your West Ham supporting owner does, and for the moment he is subsidising you out of his pocket.

We are in the financial doo doo, but at least we won't be dropped in it by a sugar daddy who will one day pull the plug when he realises he won't get more than 5000 in the stadium.

Good luck in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy this year.

Hoofball ? like most football fans the people of Colchester want to see a winning team. Results are what matters most.

As for the JPT, if you don't get to the Wembley final, the next best thing is to go out in the first round. Less injuries and suspensions that way, its not like there is any money in it upto the final. It used to be a useful way of keeping some of our fringe players match fit, but we now have the Southend United first team for that purpose.

Anyway, I have already seen Col U play in numerous Wembley finals. Do you think Southend will get to experience one ?

You think ? The way your club is going, even that may be a distant dream quite soon.

I remember when we played at Sheff Utd a couple of years back, their supporters organised a charity colection for hard-up Rotherham before the game.

Would you like us to organise something similar for you at the WHCS ?

Yeah, if you all contribute 10p, we might be able to buy a cup of tea.
