CAV Miley is eager to avoid any more unwanted interruptions with Southend United this season.
The midfielder has been sidelined by injuries and suspension during the first half of the campaign.
But, after returning to the starting line-up with a goal at Brentwood Town on Saturday, Miley is determined to kick on and help the Shrimpers work their way up the National League standings.
"It was my own fault with the red card but it's been stop start for me this season what with my back going as well," said Miley.
"I tried to play through it a bit but it wasn't possible.
"In the first half at Woking I actually felt back to full fitness then all of sudden I shoot myself in the foot and get sent off.
"It meant I couldn't be involved the week after but I was happy to start on Saturday and get minutes again.
"Now I just need to make sure I'm at full fitness going into this run of games."
Blues are currently 14th in the standings and host Hartlepool United this weekend during what Miley believes will be another key part of the season.
"I don't know why but games around this time of year always seem to be important," said Miley.
"We need to go and back up the Halifax performance and the cup game now.
"We have to do everything we can right and get the basics right to go and get the result against Hartlepool but we know it will be tough against them."
The Shrimpers will go into the game on the back of two wins in succession.
And Miley was happy to help Blues avoid an FA Trophy upset by scoring a first half equaliser for Kevin Maher's side.
"The goal was a bit lucky and I'm not sure how many players it's hit before it's gone in but when it went in I was just about going again," said Miley.
"We just had to make sure we got the win and that's all that mattered."
