Breaking News National League lift SUFC Transfer Embargo - 5 July 2024

SOUTHEND United are no longer restricted by a transfer embargo.

The Shrimpers had been banned from making new signings since mid-May following winding up petitions from Stewarts Law and PG Site Services.
But, after both petitions were settled ahead of a High Court hearing last week, the embargo which had been in place is no longer listed on the National League website.
The removal of the embargo is another step in the right direction for the Shrimpers who have been facing an incredibly uncertain future again this summer.

However, the consortium headed up by Justin Rees have now agreed terms with club chairman Ron Martin and that situation remains in a positive place with lawyers continuing to make checks before the deal can be officially finalised

They got planning permission end of June to redevelop their ground - so fair chunk on that I guess unless they already had the Dosh for that from somewhere else
Although they want to move so will be 500 plus seats in existing stands whilst they look for an alternative site after the council of one hue helped them get a site whilst another of a different hue threw the plans out. I doubt they'll put much of the money into the existing ground. Certainly not for away fans.
