AHEAD of the National League season getting underway this weekend,
SouthendUnited have emerged as one of the most popular bets to be promoted from the division.
Since the beginning of July, 30 per cent of all bets placed through Oddschecker on the National League promotion market have backed the Shrimpers
Blues are currently ranked as the second favourites with the bookmakers for National League promotion, at odds of 5/1.
As well as this, Southend are also the most popular bet to win the National League title at current odds of 14/1, taking 18 per cent of the total bet share.
Barnet are the bookmakers’ favourites for the National League title ahead of the season starting at 5/1.
To complete the set, Southend are also the number one pick to finish inside the top seven this season and 23.2 per cent of all top seven finish bets have backed Southend.
At odds of 1/1, the bookmakers are giving Southend a 50% implied probability of a top seven finish.
In both the previous two seasons, the most popular bet on Oddschecker to achieve promotion from the National League have gone on to do so, Chesterfield and Wrexham.
