Blood Type...

cowboy
How can you find this out?
I just called my GPs and they were most unhelpful!
THe guy suggested that it *may* be on my birth certificate, but didn't know as he was American!
He then I needed to get it done privately....

i think you'll have to book a gp appointment and expect to pay for the test then mate... i'll ask my dad but i think if it isn't for a genuine medical reason then they'll charge to for the test... if you cant get it done at your gp then maybe try ringing your local community health clinic

It's a genuine medical reason! I need it on my ID card in Ethiopia if I have a car crash or some other horrific reason and they need to patch me up!

Jump out in front of a bus, and then while your being sorted out in the A & E Resus Unit if you listen carefully they will do a crossmatch for your blood type & then ask the bloodbank for some. :minger:

i think travel doesn't really count though (unfortunately) and most gps will sting you for things like that, along with some jabs, certificates etc

where did you get your jabs done? at your gps?

Contact Southend Hospital. They may be able to help. If they fob you off to your GP, explain that your GP wasn't exactly helpful, and that's why you've contacted them.

FWIW, I'm A pos.

Your Gp would not be able to establish this from a routine blood investigation and it would need to be requested on the blood form. The easiest way to find out would be from your early years, has your parents still got all your records from birth? If not then i am afraid you would need to get it done privately or failing that all blood requests are held on the haematology departments computor, if you phoned them and were really nice they may help you
