Blackout Rugby

Still just blitzing training and leaving my first team as is. We hold our own in III and that will do until I find the inclination to work out such trivialities as tactics and suchlike!!

My main trainees are coming on nicely, Hughes has played 9 times for England now.

Don't worry - a team full of strongs should hold it's own against a few impressives and princelys.

I only got my first impressive this season and following that they seem to come thick and fast and I now have about 6 or 7 players with a skill at impressive.

I don't know whether the balanced team or a few superstars is better, but I was quite pleased to beat Jimlav's team in the league (he's the England U20 coach). I'm currently top of my league in II although I've got a tough game coming up this weekend (the only team I've lost to in the league this season).

By the way YB - I've challenged you to a friendly if you fancy it?

Cheers, accepted.

I normally put out my reserves but if you want to play your firsts, i might be tempted to go with my firsts as well. When your not in the cup, it hardly impacts on your fitness at all.

I was just going to play my reserves - give them a run out. I lost my league game so I thought I'd drop them all and make sure they really are all at their peak fitness-wise.

OK, I'll put my reserves in as well.

I also lost my league game. Not entirely sure why.

I lost again, my play off hopes are in doubt (don't mind not going up, just need the extra games to avoid debt!!).

Fortunately I now have two home games followed by a bot so hoping I should be ok.

Stadium up to 9,000 now.

Mines up to 8485 although I'm yet to have a home game since I upgraded.

I'm still top of my league as I've only lost twice (ahead of second by a point) but essentially it's all irrelevant as I only need to finish in the top 4 which I should manage. Obviously it would increase my chances of avoiding an extra play-off game on the slim chance I can make it thrhough the initial play-offs.

This is the first time I've really had any competition in my league. Like MrB I don't really understand the tactical side of things that much - whenever I tinker with it I seem to do much worse so tend to keep it at the default settings. So far I've relied on simply training up my team so I hopefully have a better team than everyone else in my league. It worked up until now but now I'm in II there are a few equally good teams.

I now have $2.7 mill in the bank and still haven't bothered working out what I am doing

I had a chat with some people in the know and they told me to use expansive as my backs are strong. I tried it and lost both games. Back to default for me!!

Any ideas how much I'd get for this player:

I've slipped into debt and need to get some cash....

Not a lot. Players under 10k CSR don't go for very much at all these days. Those who've been investing 50k into their academies are pulling 15k+ 17yos.

Enjoyed this little pop set today:

My kicker also moved on to Princely.

I'm letting down the Wales side as a lot of my players come from my squad and I dont play it really. Shame :D

Only 6 pops for me this week - 5 on first teamers and 1 on a reserve.

What do your Welsh internationals look like? Have you been training them much?

Matt, can't access BR on the phone, can you let me know how badly I did in the play offs please?

Lost 37-21 in your semi and then lost 19-28 in the bronze place play-off.

They had 58% possession and 59% territory in your semi-final.

Cheers, at least I deserved to lose this season!

Probably a good thing, am restructuring and training new players as have 3 30k plus players and think wages will be an issue next season. Cut their training right back and trying to focus on the pack as I think that's what is costing us games. With team training I think some teams will be caught out by the fact that their top earners will keep getting better and more expensive regardless of their individual training. Was tempted to keep netting Hughes but reckon he'll lose his place in the England team next season.

Also sold my Level 4 facilities as was spiralling into debt. Simply not sustainable at this stage.

:nope:

Oops. Used my proceeds from my play-off games to get level 4 facilities.
