I only spoke to him once. Walking across Wakering park to watch pre season friendly. He struck me as a nice bloke. He invested money in our club. And was doing the C.E.O. job unpaid, i feel to protect his investment, after sussing things were more than a little dodgy here. So i feel he must have been the gullible one to put up monies for R.M. in the first place. After everything that has gone on at the club over the last 5 years and how R.M. treated our players, Management and fans.
T.B. was, and maybe, ( I am not in the know ) still is, a ray of light down a long dark tunnel to hang onto. Only time will tell. UTB

LOL - and you call anybody who doesn't agree with your statement as gullable (think that should be gullible by the way) - pot, kettle, black comes to mind.

I cannot understand why anyone would make such a bizarre statement.

I spoke with Tara both my email and in person a few times. He struck me as a really nice bloke, I just wonder if he found the unpredictable qualities of football investment and management simply not to his liking. He had had a tough old time with his daughter's illness and I just think he'd had enough of the hours and commitment that the club required from him for little reward. I don't blame him at all for going when, or even in the way he did.

I didn't like the way people seemed to hang on his every word, nor did I like the way people seemed to suddenly think he was the answer to all our problems. Tara had his own way of doing things, it wasn't to a lot of people's taste but it did seem to be effective.

Fair enough. However, a question. Did TB stay around and fight for the club, his investment and his new mates? Or did he just...leave for another job??

Sorry, that simply won't wash with the conspiracy theorists on this board.

I don't think that people who disagree with me are gullable or even gullible. I do think people may have been mislead if they believed that the Messiah had arrived..only to go back to the city all too pronto. I don't think that fact is up for argument.

I agree that TB appears to have been a soothing influence at the club and was obviously a very likeable man. But he obviouslt felt he had had enough, or a better offer came along. Fair enough.

It would appear that TB did make a point of being the friend of influential fans. Again there appears no argument to that point. Then he just up and left. I have no doubt TB had extremely good reasons for moving on...but he did just leave.

Now he appears a saint to some.

I realise that, just that sometime I think people over complicate things to fit their thoughts and in this case, I think it was a lot simpler - he just didn't like it!

I agree. Good for anyone making a move if not happy and has opportunity elsewhere..

That does not however, make him the hero he has become to many.

What is the actual conspiracy theory you suggest some believe?

That the whole thing is down to one persons' lust for glory. First, a small football club in Essex........... next World domination
(If anyone creative is bored this morning perhaps they can get a photograph of Blofeld stroking his cat and superimpose a picture of our dear leaders head on it. A monocle around the eye would look good but is by no means obligatory)

I just hope that supporters, pro-RM, ant-RM, pro-TB (not sure if anyone is actually anti-TB so we will miss that one) all pull together as one to help the still very possible promotion finale!

I'm sorry but there is only one Saint or Hero of Southend United and that is David Roche

I'm sure we will find out the truth in the near future!

Maybe it's because we have been deluded and dragged along through the dirt with our bollocks in Ron Martin's grasp for so long!

And when a man comes in and has an involvement in the club and appears to completely turn it around, then maybe that's why people are so fond of him.

Despite the brilliant season we are having I just hope in some way Ron Martin is forced out! This will disrupt NOUT because EVERYONE thinks he is a ****ing moron and he is toying with our club! The brilliant season should not hide this fact. He is a snake, he has tried and has failed! His plates are spinning at a very high rate and one will surely soon drop and he will vanish!

Only when this happens will the mad negativity be gone!

Sick of the ******** and the delusion show!
