Better than Hamsters

Prodigal Son

Manager
Our friends the Hamsters are averaging less than a point a game despite their big signings and million pound squad. We really should'nt be moaning.

Please let's have a little perspective on SZ.

Credit to Col Ewe, I thought they would be on SZ reminding us of their lofty position and unbeaten run.

its mean nothing if southend go down as well.

West Ham were overachieving last year anyway, but it seems their new signings have upset the applecart somewhat... shame. I hope they go down, as I've met too many condescending Tinned Spam fans recently.

I have a new found hate for Whammers, just because I've learnt how scummy they are. Make a big sound though.

Alan Curbishley was asked on MOTD2 a few weeks ago what could a newly promoted team hope for/ consider to be a good start to the season. He replied: A point a game for the first ten games, which then gives you something to build on.

Although he was talking about the Pr£mi£rsh!t£, I feel that the same can go for any newly promoted team, especially for those gaining promotion from League 1 to the Championship, wher there is a noticeable difference between the football being played. The Hamsters have had a season in the top flight with the chance of money and signings to consolidate their position.

If we look at the teams that we have played so far this season, our points tally and the football being played by the team (with the exception of the first half of QPR away and Cadiff on sunday) I think that we have made a good start- it could have been better, of course it could. We could have 27 points and be booking our seats for the train to Old Trafford next season! But in all honesty, I never really expected that.

What I believe we do have is a very good TEAM, a very good manager and assistant, a very good chairman and very good supporters- when we want to be. And I believe that the above- when all of us work together- give us a very big oppourtunity of being in this Division next season.

As for the Hamsters... a few more lost points and half of East London will have imploded! Along with improved sales of Chelsea shirts in the area.

Hopefully a visit to the Boleyn will be on the league fixture list for us next season!
