Stan's debut has always held special memories for me. I remember being gutted hearing Friday that Benji had gone - even more so when we'd replaced him with some youngster from Palace.

Arrived at the game on that wet Saturday - figured out who Stan was. He looked pretty quiet in the warm up.

The rest is history... setting up the first goal and scoring 2 more left me (and no doubt everyone that was there) just gob-smacked by this guys talent.

But then Eastwood today. 3 'strikers' goals, great pace, great skill...

Who's debut was the best in your opinion?!

what about cadette v orient ?

4 great goals in a 5-1 beating..

yea, true - was that his debut against the club that sold him in their next match?

Great debut obviously, but Cadette was quite well known - Stan and Freddy are/were complete unknown quantities...

Yep, that was class, and tops the lot.

Still, not bad to be seeing it again in Mr Eastwood.

As a slight aside I was a bit concerned when the kids named our new moggy in the Summer 'Freddy' after Mr Mercury of Queen fame, it didn't feel right to me. The existing pet incumbents Shrimper the Dog and Bramble the Mog seemed to have more meaningful names somehow. However, after today I am more convinced, though Freddy himself seemed a bit purturbed this eve as the three of us got home and duly chanted his name to him.
