Bentley Offered One Year Contract

From today's Echo, Mark Bentley has been offered a one year contract - Bentley is reported as saying "I want to stay at the club and play in the Championship".

Good move, as I am sure he can mix it up in the Championship.

Am absolutely delighted Beno has been offered a new contract. Had a gut feeling he might be one of the ones Tilly felt might not make it. Glad to see I was wrong and Beno will don the blue shirt again!

If we had 11 players of the same level of effort and commitment that Beno gives we will be sitting here this time next year talking about the Premier$hite!!!

If its true it is a shame that the Echo can relay the information before the OS. Perhaps the club do not feel we deserve to be informed of contract talks or that it is any of our business. The club should be responsible for breaking news before anyone else.

The relationship between the club and the Echo seems to be very good these days, with lots of good coverage. Letting the Echo have the odd "Exclusive" isn't exactly a big price to pay for the free publicity. And out of the perhaps 20,000 who turned up to the Parade, how many do you reckon would log onto the OS every day to check the latest news? 1%? 5%? not many, anyway, and certainly fewer than have access to the Echo.

We do very well (usually) from the OS, can't complain now.

Can't see him being a first team regular by any stretch but a very useful player to have in the squad due to his physical style of play and his height. Good news

Not a great fan of Benno I admit, but it's nice to see Tilly staying loyal to the players who have done the business for the past two seasons.

I hope he makes the grade, but I can also see him being farmed out on loan my next March...

I think Benno will be playing more games than either Smith or JCR next season.

I am delighted that Bentley has been offered a deal.
I'm glad Tilly & Brush didn't offer more than 1 year though as I'm not sure he could cut it in the Premier$hite

 

(BTW JCR will be a regular IMO next season)
