Bentley's Involvement

Paul Brush described Bentley's involvement against the U's as "possible but not probable".

However, on a more positive note he described our chances of bring in a new face or two as "probable more than possible", that comment was made in light of watching Premier$hite reserve games.

Agreed, although it may leave space for Petts. I know he's not an attacking midfielder, but in a game such as this it might not be such a bad thing to have someone slightly more defensive like Petts on the pitch.

With so little first team football this season for Petts, I'd be slightly concerned about whether he's up to the job. I can see Lawson starting right midfield now.

I think thats a good shout and a likely option.

Here is the problem;

Petts - too defensive and doesn't offer enough as a right-sided midfield.
Lawson - overly attacking in such an away game where losing is not an option.
Bentlets - the perfect conbination of Lawson and Petts

As a central-midfielder I think that Jay Smith is quality - IMO far better than Petts - but I don't think he's a right-Midfielder and just couldn't see Tilly playing him, after he's clearly second-choice behind Petts.

Benno will be a massive loss and I'd be concerned about Petts/Lawson playing right-side at Col U, Jay's not had enough football lately to start.

It's times like this we could REALLY do with JCR......

Agreed. The problem is; even if we pay up now its too late. JCR wouldn't be able to play a game like this without match practice.

Watching Premier$hite reserve games? Elliot Ward maybe?

On the Bentley issue, he's what we'd need in a game like Saturday will prove to be, a real physical game with calm heads needed. I just plead that Guttridge doesn't get sucked in to row like he has done on the rare occasion this season.

I know he wouldn't - but if this farce hadn't happened he'd be invaluable for Saturday

No chance, he's off to a Championship promotion-chasing side on loan - don't know which one it is but I wouldn't be surprised if it was Palace to link up with his brother.

I think Petts will play on the right midfield in an tactical move so his job to stop Yeates from going forward & allow Jubb to charge forward as well, he will do the donkey work for us if he get picked - playing Lawson & Jupp on the right would be our downfall if the like of Yeates have a good game.

Unless Tilson got a right winger on loans, you never know that Bentley is working hard today in training to get fit for tomorrow.

I wouldn't be surprised if for such a game Tilly/Brush were playing mind games and Bentley miraculously made the starting 11.
