Looks as though he spend the end of last season at Stoke too, playing in six U18 fixtures

An interesting one; this isn’t a player that was on my radar, so not sure how much time he had spent with us. Another U16s goalkeeper, Harry Carter, made an appearance for the U17s last season as is part of the new intake for 2025/26.

I believe Ben Chivers was signed with Ipswich Town as a 9/10-year-old, and he was with Billericay Town last season (including playing a schools final at Stoke City):

That’s not to say he wasn’t with us as well; the Academy is being re-established under the organisation of SUCET, just not at an elite level, and often players will be dual-registered with local Eastern Junior Alliance teams.

Further to this, I’ve had confirmation Ben Chivers was with us at U13s and U14s, but was able to leave in 2023 when our EPPP funding ended as a result of being outside the EFL for more than two seasons. He was with our U16s group as well as Billericay Town last season.
