Beamback

I went today and thorughly enjoyed it! We heard the songs from Layer road which was good and there was a good atmosphere considerig it was a big screen in th middle of the pitch, although you cant beat the atmosphere at the real thing.

Atmosphere was a bit weid to start then the link came on and showed the col u end and everyone started booing. Then the camera shot to our end a big cheer went up. Loudest cheers apart from the goals were when one of theirs fell *** over tit retreiving the ball from the dug out and when the song went out "are you watching at Roots Hall". Can't remember hearing a single song of theirs whilst we came over loud and clear and was quickly taken up by the west stand.

I really enjoyed it, nothing will ever beat being at the game but it was a close second best.
All we could hear was the Southend fans singing and we joined in with their songs.
It was also good to enjoy a beer during the game.
Well done to the club for laying it all one. We know they haven't made any money out of it, they did it just for the fans.

Correction... ment to read East stand...would have been looking at the back of the screen otherwise!

I thought it was a good idea of having the computer game on the screen at half time, even though Southend did lose on it but I suppose the 3 nil win against Col U made up for it. I guess.

Lol. Yes, thought that the crowd booing every time Col******r got the ball on the half time Fifa game was quite humourous!

Big Screen was excellent. Geat singing in the east stand in response to the singing at Layer Road! Nice to be able to have a beer too

Did feel pretty weird at Roots Hall to start with, but once the first goal went in, it was fantastic. Unfortunately at the time, I was making my way along the back row of the green seats with a pint in my hand... I think I spilt a little bit of it!

I have to say that the atmosphere at the Hall was better than that at the Walsall game! Having a beer in the stand may have helped with that, though!

It was also great to hear the Away-boys singing at Layer road. It was a case of they started off singing, then Roots Hall carried the song on.

Best moment of the day for me... 3-0 up and listening to, 'Are you watching at Roots Hall?' Really helped to make you feel part of the game, although we were all a long way away.

Last thing... a big thanks to Tracey and the girls behind the bar- they were a bit overwhelmed by the amount of people at the bar (worse than a home game) and they didn't have any lunch! Uncle Ron, if you're reading... they deserve a big fat bonus!!!
