Thought I was going to have an easy game today, but unfortunately my opponents spent a bit of dosh on Monday, 4.4m to be exact, on some guy who has a weekly wage in excess of 40k and a BTR of 146,8709
wow.gif
They are both more than my entire squad
Oo.gif

Anyway my game still hasn't started, anyone else having probs?

mine started, at at about 7 overs...

anyway, current score (they're abtting)..

End of Over 10: 28-1, runrate=2.80
Knight 5-1-17-1
Clegg* 1 (19 balls)
Hicks 21 (37 balls)

Last Wicket: Mitchell c. Chavda b. Knight 1 (FOW: 1/1)

It would seem that there Clegg guy isnt cut out for the one day game!

End of Over 17: 70-1, runrate=4.12
Everard 2-0-15-0
James* 33 (49 balls)
Sweeney 29 (22 balls)

I'm in the field. Looks like these are his best 2 batsmen, Sweeny is the 40k a week merchant.....

After a slow start Saj has shaken them up with two wickets in an over:

End of Over 19: 57-3, runrate=3.00
Mccoy 5-1-7-0
Kiely* 25 (46 balls)
Pitcher 0 (5 balls)

Last Wicket: Dawood st. Askew b. Sajjad 0 (FOW: 56/3)

These are the league leaders so a win would be very nice. Green pitch though so taking nothing for granted.

A decent enough start to may game. I should really beat them though - they are bottom of the league. I don't think the guy has even logged in for about a month and a half.

End of Over 23: 86-5, runrate=3.74
Scanes 2-1-4-1
Hankey* 32 (44 balls)
Sharma 0 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Clarke c. Worrall b. Scanes 13 (FOW: 86/5)

The crowd can't believe this display of aggressive cricket form both teams:

End of Over 27: 78-3, runrate=2.89
Mushtaq 4-1-11-0
Pitcher* 15 (27 balls)
Kiely 31 (72 balls)

Last Wicket: Dawood st. Askew b. Sajjad 0 (FOW: 56/3)

The 40k a week man is taking apart my motley crew of Strong, Proficient and Respectable bowlers....
sad.gif

End of Over 28: 143-2, runrate=5.11
Kemp 4-0-35-1
Liyanage* 18 (24 balls)
Sweeney 69 (51 balls)

Last Wicket: James b. Kemp 46 (FOW: 100/2)

Although as I type this....

28.5 W Everard to Sweeney
Everard got that to cut in and he's got Sweeney through the gate

Get in there

Where do I apply?

More progress here:

End of Over 31: 94-5, runrate=3.03
Mccoy 6-1-13-0
Gibb* 7 (6 balls)
Aujla 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Pitcher Run Out 17 (FOW: 94/5)

The carnage has abated now

End of Over 38: 171-4, runrate=4.50
Oconnor 9-0-42-1
Liyanage* 36 (58 balls)
Merry 1 (15 balls)

Last Wicket: Howey c. Rosenior b. Oconnor 5 (FOW: 160/4)

I bolwed them all out for 98, happy days.

However, my best batsman, who has averaged 138 over his last 52 matches, was bowled by a spotty 18 y/old with 1,927 BR for just 10 runs!
sad.gif

End of Over 45: 216-2, runrate=4.80
Bradford 8-1-42-0
Rudi* 59 (70 balls)
Mulhern 98 (130 balls)

Last Wicket: Deakin c. Carragher b. Richardson 41 (FOW: 99/2)

End of Over 47: 218-10, runrate=4.64
Blackbourn 8-1-24-3
Liyanage* 57 (77 balls)

And that was with a Worthless W/K
wow.gif

Swapped my team about and didn't realise I had moved my W/K until he took a spectacular diving catch at cover
laugh.gif

Off to a steady start in reply

End of Over 1: 3-0, runrate=3.00, reqrunrate=4.41 (218-10)
Stone 1-0-3-0
Tselane* 1 (4 balls)
Raziuddin 2 (2 balls)

Getting thumped again. I really need overcast conditions for seamers to reek havoc. On a sunny day I allowed the opposition to amass 285-8 which I won't be able to chase down. I think I'll be about 60 odd short.

Screw it!
mad.gif

My best batsman (Superb batting about to pop to Quality and respectable concentration) has just been bowled out for 1 run! This is really starting to annoy me.

For the last three league games that gives him...
0 out first ball
3 out sixth ball
1 out second ball

I really can't understand how this game works. With Superb form you'd have thought he'd do a bit better. I think I may have to drop him down the batting order for the next game.

You might need to fiddle about with his individual orders as well, maybe make him less attacking.

Despite losing two wickets in the second over we look like we should stumble home:

End of Over 19: 78-3, runrate=4.11, reqrunrate=1.65 (128-10)
Tutt 5-0-15-0
San* 31 (54 balls)
Moore 16 (27 balls)

Last Wicket: Askew b. Gibb 27 (FOW: 45/3)

He's a cautious player set with normal batting intructions. What would you suggest - defensive?

He was by far and away my highest scoring batsman last year with the same instructions. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if he's just been incredibly unlucky.

Fortunately, my number one and 3 seem to be doing ok.
End of Over 10: 64-1, runrate=6.40, reqrunrate=3.05 (185-9)
Innes 5-0-29-1
Newton* 29 (23 balls)
Bowden 33 (35 balls)

Last Wicket: Worrall b. Innes 1 (FOW: 4/1)

His PFL is typically at the highest level - only has one net and has respectable stamina.

Shame he got out. Would probably have scored well. My current pair have just got 24 runs off the last two overs
