Bloody hell, it gets tougher. While we await the result of the Deuchars vs Tribute penalty shoot-out, here's a real humdinger: Adnams Explorer (canveyshrimper) vs London Pride (Hutton)

That is a toughie. Well I've come to live on London Pride what with living about 15 minutes from the brewery, yet I've had some terrible pints of the stuff. Whereas by and large, pubs that stock Explorer really know their thing when it comes to storing ales, and I've never had a bad pint of it.

Both are great on their day, but Explorer just edges it for me

Good point there. I used to live in Chiswick and as such have always felt a bit of loyalty to Pride and the other Fuller's beers, but Adnams is that little bit more special and just gets my vote.

Got to echo what Jon & Al have said there......

Although, Pride have had some strange marketing ideas over the years. I remember a couple of summers ago around Wimbledon time, they suggested a recipe for strawberries steeped in Pride with reduced balsamic vinegar dressing. Suffice to say it wasn't all that!

I am not a great fan of "blonde" beers:

"Adnams Explorer ABV 4.3%

A blonde beer suffused with the aromas of a grapefruit grove. The massive citrus attack will burst on your palate allowing all the flavours of the imported New World hops to deliver their fruity bitterness.

We’ve done our research here and we expect Explorer to be particularly popular with both younger and women drinkers as the light refreshing drink of choice."

If it had been Adnams Bitter it would have been a difficult choice.

London Pride for me.

I love these kind of tasting notes. I mean, "aromas of a grapefruit grove"? Yeah, thats what I was thinking too...

8-8 at the moment, surely not going to be like the other heats and go to a penatly shoot out

Looks like it'll go to the wire. I've got to say I like Pride and Fullers brews, but...

Reminds me of a woman I had a one-night stand with: a blonde bird confused with the aroma of Old Leigh on a humid Sunday. The sit on my face attack burst on my palate allowing all the flavours of salty marshes to deliver their fishy bitterness.

I have to vote for Harry, at his age this may one of the last Polls he is ever involved with ..
