Barry Knight - swaps with Crossley

As predicted - Phil Crossley has swapped with fellow Kent whistler Barry Knight!

Mr Knight came to prominance this season for his triple dismissal in the infamous Bowyer v Dyer dust up.

Also Mr Knight, is still not forgiven in Bolton for his performance in the play-offs 5 years ago

Thats alright, Mr Knight sent three of our lads off at Swansea a few seasons back (Not talking about last seasons famous 3-2 win with 8 men!!)

So now we have a problem!!

Oh dear, as the song goes 'We always get sh** refs, we always get sh** refs!!'

Mr Knight may have his problems, but he did not send off three of our players at Swansea. Mr A. Hall achieved that feat which was emulated 5 years later by G. Cain.

Not another Premier$hite ref! They never want to be officiating lower league matches and turn the whole affair into a farce because they want to be the centre of attention.

Sorry - But why the f**k can Northampton pick and chose refs. You get a ref and stick with him IMHO...

I dont like about half the refs in the league so does that mean I can just belly-ache till I get a ref we have won with then..???

JOKE

The background behind this is when Mr Crossley was appointed on Tuesday, NTFC expressed their disappointment with the selection of Crossley and detailed their concerns to the League, that Crossley would be subject to undue attention.

Yesterday, we found out that he had been swapped with Barry Knight.

Crossley is the most hated referee in Northampton Town folklore after his abject performance in last seasons second leg at Mansfield.

Without going over bitter wounds, his dire performance cost us the game and the chance to go to Cardiff.

His only subseuqent appoitment saw him abused for 90 minutes by irrate Cobblers fans.

At the end of the day nobody expected the FL to back down and I think NTFC are quite surprised at the outcome.

If you were a Cobblers fan you would not want him in charge of a crucial game. I just hope both games go off without any incident on the ref front!

Barry Knight is a decent ref from what I've seen. He may have sent three off at St.James recently but I think I'm right in saying those were the first red cards he'd shown all season.

Mr knight sent Royce off against Fulham away in the cup a few seasons back then Tony Henrikson saved a penalty!

Was that not the game where the Fulham manager actually apologised because that decision cost us the match and he admitted that King Roycie should never have been sent off?

We were supposed to have Trevor Kettle for our home match against Darlo. We complained about him and then the FL gave us Andy Penn.
