Will Barry Corr ever pull on a Southend shirt again?

I really hope so as he is the perfect man for Mr Sturrock but as the weeks go on with no update on his fitness it is looking increasingly unlikely.

He got the right up when CP labelled him a 'crock' 6 weeks ago with a calf strain. 6 weeks is a long time to shake off a strain!!

I think the thing we have to remember is that he has to ease his way into training and games. I remember when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was injured for roughly the same period, it took him about an extra 8 months before he even started his first game, albeit with the occasional cameo off the bench. Give him time, and I'm sure he will play again. Firstly we wouldn't have handed him another contract and secondly, it can't be doing him any good either.

Been out a long long tme now for a pro player. Hope he does as he was a great target man but my gut feel is maybe not as its just been so long and so silent around hm.

Just wheel him out for corners. Like American Football do with their kickers. Bring him on for set pieces.

Could work!

I have faith in him, whilst he believes I believe.

Jack Wilshere has been out as long as Barry Corr has and there don't seem to be the same number of concerns about his long term future.

I'd agree that the lack of news is disturbing though. He's even deleted his twitter now.

Which may be down to feeling a bit foolish after his Twitter rant at Chris Phillips over the "Crock" headline.

Difference in age and ability there though. I didn't think we would see him play professionally again, so I was surprised and encouraged when news of the "pay as you play" agreement came out. The fact this was then changed to a proper contract made me think I'd been wrong and he would be back, however, as time goes on my expectations have lessened and I don't think we will now.

For which a load on here unfairly gave Chris stick for.

I'm just not sure how people are able to disagnose potentially career ending injuries based on next to no information. They had a feature on Soccer Saturday about Ricardo Vaz Te this weekend who is now in the Premier League despite missing three years with knee injuries.

There is a pretty well known "secret" as to why Wilshere is really out though.

What you also need to remember is that he hasnt played for nearly 18months as it stands now, therefore even when he is fit again he may not be able to play as his match fitness and sharpness will be so low from lack of playing time, however if we dont see him what a waste of wages giving him another year!

That's a bull**** rumour. The same bull**** rumour which he very publically deleted his twitter account over and went to the Press to deny (not something that you'd do if you were trying to keep it quiet). If it were true then his returns from injury wouldn't be constantly getting put back. There certainly wouldn't have been talk about him going to the Euros or the Olympics up until the end of last season.

Wilshere is still out because the Arsenal medical team are useless.

i remember seeing barry down the gym every day at the start of last season , not seen him down there since , im guessing its because swimming wasn't helping him out and that he has to stick to a program .

im not knocking the fitness staff , but it seems to me that they are running out of ideas for him , i dont think we will see him this season

I really hope he makes it back, if not for us then for someone else. Very nice bloke by all accounts. Makes me laugh to see some of the comments on here about him now, when he first came to us there was nothing but abuse.

Injuries and age may have a connection , but injuries and ability ????
