Barrett & Gower - Great performances

First XI
Well what can you say.

Last night was by far one of the best games i have seen SUFC play. The whole team looked up for it and it showed. All to often this season we go one up and then seem to stop. Last night was different in many ways

What can you say about that goal from Mark Gower. He runs from the edge of our penalty area to score one the best individual goals of the season. The "G" man at his best and most dangerous. Then he spent the rest of the game running around and really messing up Brightons midfield. A great performance from Gower always lifts the team.. Keep it up Mark!!

The man mountain that is Adam Barrett scored a mental goal. I sit in the west stand and i thought the roof was going to come off when he scored his goal. Barrett always gets in the tackles and headers and any forward comes off second best to him. This was something special. A nice left shot taken well with confidence.

There are times in a season that seem to make a huge difference, not just because of the core or the position in the table but mainly for confidence and pride and making sure wearing the Blues shirt means something.

Last night was it. I was still buzzing when i got home..

Bring them on..

SUFC, up the Blues

I wasn't there, but this word says it all. Barrett and Gower were both poor the last couple of times i've seen the blues play. but it doesn't mean they are rubbish players, we know they aren't. It's just they are playing with bags of confidence, along with the rest of the team, and it's showing in our play and our results

Having Mark Gower back on form is a massive bonus, he even got in some good crosses.

And what a goal from AB, superb and his celebrations even better! He was immense at the back last night.

must admit last night you did have to sit back and just admire the football we are playing at the moment. i don't think we've played any better in a good while. this is credit to tilly n brush who clearly like to play football this way. it just seems the team looks to have a real connection and are really enjoying themselves.

The G man is well and truely back in his swing, he was terrific last night! He was everywhere, some good crosses, and one of those goals that only HE can score!! Had that volley that he hit about 70mph that just went over, that would have ripped the net off had it have been any lower too.

Barrett, well what can I say, outstanding at the back, and the goal, unreal!! I am not sure who was more surprised him or us. I have been saying for a couple of weeks (not in a bad way so much), that AB was due a goal, and had not got many this year (by the high standards he has set sinse joining), but last night he got a goal that anyone would have been proud of.

What was pleasing last night was that our defending was much better and although we sometimes sit a touch too deep, Clarke and Barrett won the 1st ball in the majoirty of cases and macca and bailey won most of the 2nd balls. We also looked a bit better from corners etc

Macca and Franno were outstanding last nigth also

Yep agree with that. I didnt notice Macca as much first half but second half he made a few steaming runs and came close to scoring a couple times. Great performance from Francis too and has really found his place in the team now.

If any of these gambling debt rumours were true about Gower, which he now apparently has cleared, he has been fantastic since then, he was in great form just before christmas then dipped over the christmas period.

Gower has influential in our improved form, one of the best goals i've ever seen him score last night.

Bearing in mind he has scored some belters !

Macca's energy levels are simply outstanding, him and Nicky B could just keep running all night long.

Simon Francis has been our most improved player of late and should of been in the running for POTM although it does just seem to be strikers that get that.

If it is the beans on toast it's defently working.

great goals by both gower and barrett

gower had a good run for his goal and barrett had the great shot for his goal
