Barneys recovered

Good - fills me with rather more confidence of getting the right result than of late.

I don't want in any way want this thread to turn into a Tilly bashing exercise, but I feel we need to aim for 3 points tomorrow if we want to make the playoffs.

One of my only niggles about him is that sometimes the targets he sets are just a bit below where they should be!

Great news about Barnard being back though, looking forward to grabbing my first chance of seeing him in a SUFC shirt!

With a full strength squad and Huddersfield going through a sticky patch this is definitely a game we can win! Come on Tilly lets go for 3 points!!! :)

What's odd though is how often do our tactics seem different game to game or adapted to specific teams? Tilly tends to pick his team, send them out and see what happens. I'm not knocking this, it's his way of doing things, but as a loyal Tilly-ite even I know tactical astuteness is not his strong point.

I see his comment as him saying he'd be happy with a point rather than we're going there to play for a point.

That's more the sentiment of what Tilly says on the OS about the Huddersfield game. I guess in that Echo article the line I quoted has been just included as an afterthought and doesn't sum up his overall thoughts.

However, I do think he should have come out a bit more like Calderwood did about their trip to Southend on Tuesday.

Also, I didn't really like the article a month or so ago saying the squad think 70 points will be enough for getting in the playoffs. This is again a hangover from last year's "21st place will be a greater achievement than winning League One"........

We are the 2nd highest scorer in the league away from home and 5th highest goals conceded.

I think maybe we are trying too hard to win games from home and need to be a bit cleverer in grinding out results.

Im not sure this is a must win game anyway, Id be fairly happy with a point but 3 would be far better of course.

Great to see Barney back!

We've always wanted a front two comprising a battling, twisting-turning, "knock the ball in from anywhere inside the box with whatever part of my body happens to be in the way", English centre-forward, alongside a traditional No. 10 with the quick feet, good first touch, powerful shot, decent pace, good vision.

From what I've seen of these two so far they might just be the answer.

Just got to hope Barnard answers those injury doubts!
