Barnard & Eastwood next year?

Gorshin

Newbie
If we go up? Worringly though if we don't go up Barnard would surely be a target for a championship club.

I get the impression that Barnard has luck with him and that he's going to be a talisman for us in future games.

Not sure how much of it is luck mate !.I think a fair bit of natural talent, 10 years + top class coaching at Spurs and an abilty to learn are more important reasons as to why he will be important to us in next few weeks. He has an old head on young shoulders , seems to know every trick in the book , has great movement, is brave and looks like he must be a right ******* to mark .

Agree totally. It's just that he brings good karma to the team. His effort and team play are so far in advance of Eastwood's last season. In fact I'd not swap him for Freddy now.

True they are 2 totally different players . Eastwood has explosive raw talent and most of his goals are self made out of nothing type goals which makes him a very exciting player to watch. Barnard is far more measured and looks like he has been coached into being a good player which of course makes him a better team player as he knows when and where to go to get himself into the right place at the right time .

I'm not sure if you can coach a player into becoming a goal scorer, if that was the case Matt Harrold can be coached into being a 20 goal a season man, and that I am sorry to say will never happen.

Agree that there is that bit of "poachers" instinct that Barney has that cant be coached which is why i said in my previous post on htis thread that he has natural talent also. However you can see by the runs he makes and his general movement on and off the ball that he has been well coached for a long time .

Agree with that, it was apparent that he was highly regarded at Tottenham, and many of their fans have said we have got a bargain in Barnard.

No chance. Tilly didn't want him back during the loan window but was convinced by Ron, then Freddy nixed the deal and I understand Sir Steve was mightily p!ssed. He thinks he's too big for us now, and we know that T&B value team spirit to the point that they will not take a chance on a talented player who might disrupt the dressing room (Leon Clarke and Kevin Maher being recent examples).

Would be interested to hear where you got that from
