Baldness

Bluetonic

Banned
Woke up this morning after a traumatic nightmare which involved me losing my hair. Was relieved to find the glossy locks still intact after a moment of panic. My question to the more follicle challenged members of the board, are you happy with your lack of hair? Is it something you learn to deal with? Do you feel that you look better with a smooth finish rather than a great barnet?

At what age does the hair begin to go/did go for you, and why isn't there a female equivalent?

Discuss.

dont think it a biggy really. Most blokes probably lose a bit in their forties but if a bald bloke walks into a pub he doesnt get a second look. Now a bloke with a syrup or a dodgy comb-over....thats a different matter.

Well I'm 36 and have a full head, no sign of thinning and no grey either...whereas I have mates (same age) who are virtually bald and one who has all his hair but it's all grey.

However, my dad was bald at 21 so thankgod I didn't inherit those genes....

And women do go bald - it's 10x worse for a woman I'd imagine. I work in the same office as a woman who totally bald through alopecia - she doesn't hide it at all.

I'm sure most blokes who had a Donald Trump style would much prefer to shave it off, as would their partners. It's completely normal these days and following on from what Steveo says, the days of Bobby Charlton comb overs are long gone.

I have a magnificent mullet, with highlights. I'm 36. And I'm ace.

No big deal at all. I like being bald and that's the truth.

I look at pictures of myself with hair and much prefer the shaved look to how it used to be.

If all else fails and you don't subscribe to my point of view, at the very least you can always console yourself that when you have lost your hair that it will always be tidy.

I think the female equivalent is cellulite.

You're probably right actually except women can cover that up better where as you dont have much choice about having your head on show!

Not true, you can always get a nice syrup. In fact, I'm quite annoyed at my inability to go bald, I want a syrup!

A few years ago my mates attended a Dinner event at Hadleigh cricket club, there were famous cricket personalities in attendance such as Sir Viv Richards and Nasser Hussain.

Anyway, the main speaker from Hadleigh got up to give a dinner speech to all the guests and he was sporting the most blatent syrup ever seen. After some egging on, One of my mates walked up behind up him on the way to the toilet and lifted the syrup clean off his head, mid-speech! Sir Viv and Nasser, plus most other people in the room were crying with laughter except Mr Syrup wearers sons who were now chasing my mate out of the building. He had to dump the wig in a nearby bush and leg it towards Thundersley.

When I used to work as a chief cashier in a High Street bank back in the 80s we used to play "spot the syrup" every day. We regularly spotted a very suspicious syrup wearer which turned out to be an elderly gentleman who wanted to be a woman, who wore white lace gloves and had a very deep voice!
