just would like to know, in view of possible rift between the two and what happened to Maher when he fell out of favour, who would you keep?

Bailey or Macca?

Both top quality palyers, but Bailey comes out on top this time.

Wasn't there a poll already running not so long ago???

dont remember, but i'm guessing it was before the headbut...if it disrupted harmony in the team, then mae we have to sacrifice one?

I was tempted to go for Bailey because of how much he has impressed everyone including myself this season and his potential ability looks superb. Then i thought about how players can have one burning season when they first join a new club and then just be luke warm the next, for that reason its Macca for me his been consistently good and passionate to the cause for the past three seasons and consistency is the ket in professional football. I would pick a man whose good for 30 games over a man whose great for 10 any day of the week

You've got that the wrong way round i think. Macca is the one that has been stuggling with form this season in his 2nd season with us. Bailey has been consistantly our best player this year, so i don't think a question of consistancy comes in to it, because that would mean it would be macca stuggling to stay in the team.

they are both quality players but they are the best use when the both of them are in form. however in the vote i would go for macca just because both him and clarke are constantly fighting (not literally) all through the match. noticed this especially at donny.

sorry but in my opinion Macca is a limited footballer. whilst you cannot knock his drive, energy and commitment... he isn't particularly creative and whilst not a bad passer, i think he gives the ball away a little bit too much. he is still relatively young but i feel that Bailey has much more potential, and has 'more strings to his bow'

they are both important to us, but if we were to get rid of one why not cash in on the player who would fetch a decent fee

because there is no guarantee that we can replace them, even with a decent amount of cash. I would argue that tilly has a better track record spending less on a player (macca 35k, barney 30k, bailey 175k etc). I don't think we want to be a selling team, both Macca and Bailey have a big role to play in the future of Southend and it seems RM is happy to put up the cash so we don't have to sell our best players

Bailey everytime.

Over the last few weeks I've come to the conclusion that I wouldn't be all that fussed if someone came and took Macca off us in the summer actually. I'm a bit frustrated he still acts like a little schoolboy when things don't his way and he ends up steaming round the pitch trying to kill someone. He doesn't look like he's going to change his ways either.

wouldnt be without either of them, anyone who saw the pair after the Donny game would see that there is no problem between them,

I'd hope we will keep hold of both players next season, but as its the end of our season we are going to be discussing just about every single possible scenario until the end of august!
If in the situation where we have to sell one of the two as they can't play together then i'll stick with my original answer, I think realistically we'd get 350k for bailey and maybe 100k for macca. You are correct in saying our cheaper buys have been more effective you just need to look at paynter and foran to see that throwing money at a problem doesn't solve it. I do however think that you can pick up central midfielders at relatively low price for the quality you get, I'm still not convinced by our front line personally and would like to see another striker and of course the centre back we have all being pining for, selling Bailey would give Tilly a better budget to achieve these goals.
But like I said at the begining of the post I WANT THEM BOTH HERE NEXT SEASON! this is just the start of many speculative posts you can expect to read up until late august
