Back From Swindon

Got back from the wilds of Wiltshire at about 7.30. Fantastic effort from Southend, we started excellently and within a couple of minutes Barrett put us in the lead. They missed a free header to level before we took control - the keeper saved low to his left in a similar incident to the opener before Gutts sent a dipping 25-yard volley towards goal which the 'keeper did well to save. The game was being played almost entirely in their half and we really should have taken advantage but only went in 1-0 up.

Second half was more even, both teams had chances but Swindon became more and more threatening as the game went on, They had us pushed back in our own half as full time approached but we scored again from a quick break as Gray headed in a fine Maher free kick, beforeFallon gave us all the willies as he scored a rebound in the last minute. 3 minutes of injury time ensued and Swindon blasted wide a couple of times but we hung on to a deserved win.

Atmosphere was superb, the fans were in fine voice all match despite a lack of noise from a surprisingly small Swindon home crowd. Well done to all my fellow travellers for their vocal efforts.

We seem to have a habit this season of only performing for one half, we did it again today. We need to kill off teams when we are dominant, thankfully Swindon were quite poor today and we got away with it.

The ref was crap. That's all I'm gonna say about him for now!

Just found out he was the ref from Yeovil away last season. He was fu cking s%&t then and he was fu cking s%&t today!

Yep! He should never have been sent off in that game. I just don't understand what he was playing at today!

I think he had a tenner on Swindon. It's also nice to see he can overrule his linesman when he signals a foul on Lawson despite not having a good view of the incident himself... yet book Guttridge for an excellent tackle in which he won the ball cleanly.

Idiot. We always get sh*t refs....

(sorry bout the spelling)
obsivoly doesn't like us probably a Col******r fan:p
