Away attendances

The number of fans we take to an away game has no bearing on how we perform as a team. Discuss.

For a while now I have thought it makes hardly any difference whether we take a lot of fans to an away game e.g. Newport or not very many Morecambe. I realise that often we make more noise when there is less of us, but are we really the 12th man for the team?

I enjoy going to away games the day out, the camaraderie and a few bevies but don't think it makes much difference to the team despite what they might say and even think. I don't think we are in splendid isolation as reckon it is the same for most teams.

If you think about it, do you not think that it motivates the team to have people there supporting them? If no-one turned up for away matches then i think that it would demotivate the team a bit and possibly lead to poorer performances. Also, fans can help encourage the team when they're losing, or sometime the opposite with our fans :blush:

it's just one of those things that we can't really say whether it does or it doesn't as we are so inconsistent anyway to be honest
