Can anyone clever out there tell me what was the average age of the team last night and does anyone know what was the youngest average age ever for a Southend team in a league or FA cup first team match?

A quick check, using just whole years, not months, gives:

SM = 30
PC = 26
AB = 29
AG = 21
LB = 24
AR = 25
FM = 19
OS = 23
JH = 19
JfC = 21
JS = 19

TOTAL: 256 So average age of the team that started = just over 23.

A quick check, using just whole years, not months, gives:

SM = 30
PC = 26
AB = 29
AG = 21
LB = 24
AR = 25
FM = 19
OS = 23
JH = 19
JfC = 21
JS = 19

TOTAL: 256 So average age of the team that started = just over 23.

The relative youth of our team was something that the Chelsea-obsessed ITV coverage failed to make much of.
Though it could be said that we as fans often overlook this in our own expectations/criticisms of current squad.
