Please tell me you're having a laugh.
We beat Lincoln partly because, somehow, it was destined to be our day. But that was despite Flahavan's "best" efforts, frankly. It was ineptitude on a grand scale which on any other day would have been punished.
Were it not for some profligate finishing (by Yeo in particular) and two excellent blocks on the line by Beno and Che, we'd be looking at bottom flight football again this season
because of Flavs.
Surely only the most one-eyed Flahavan devotee can believe he had anything other than a calamitous game in the final.
Parting thought: how come, despite appearing in a side with one of the stingiest defences in the league, Flahavan never gets anywhere near the team of the season, or even the team of the week, in the newspapers or the other independently judged awards?
Two brilliant games against Northampton (which prompted Calderwood's lionisation of Darryl) does not make him a great keeper. He is one who is improving; he's a great squad keeper. He's probably worth hanging on to. But "a far better keeper than any other I've seen in this division"?
You're having a laugh, aren't you?
