Well, his first job is to quell the growing argument between the board and the supporters.
A "respected and powerful" supporter group issued a statement last week voicing their concerns over Wenger's management and what prospects the club has for progression, which I read as a thinly veiled remark against the lack of support Wenger seems to be receiving financially. Hill-Wood responded by referring to the statement as silly remarks made by silly little people.
Straight from the Roots Hall PR department, that one.

Or maybe not. Good on the fans I say, good to see a club supporter trust actually exercising some power and standing up for their club. Over here in Germany each club has to be at least 51% owned by fans so no one person can have majority control.
