Are women ever "really funny"?

Today is a bit slow in the cut and thrust world of mortgage broking. Ben in the office is my normal port of call for a chat but having only just come back to work he is playing catchup.

Sandie and Mandi the other two in the office today are just talking about a load of old womans rubbish.

It has suddenly dawned on me despite the fact we have all worked together for years I dont think either of them has ever made me laugh remotely.

In comparrison Ben and John the other lads in the office make me laugh 50 times a day.

Expanding on this I have been thinking about women I have worked with in the past. And I can come up with the sum total of no-women ever that I have ever know that have been consistently funny...

Am I alone or are there no "really" funny women out there?

I know what you mean though DtS - there are females I have a laugh with, but women are never as funny as men. Must be something in the genes.

I know a lot of funny girls, but not in the same way as blokes. Blokes tend to go for stories and self-deprecation a lot more than girls.

Mind you, blokes probably find that kind of humour funnier, thus they find other blokes funnier than other girls.

God knows, I've confused myself now.

Men just find each other funny - end of. Men just seem to find different things funny.....I can assure you that us women can actually be very very funny, to each other, and you men prob wouldnt laugh, its works both ways lads I can assure you.

When me and my female friends are with our male friends in the pub or wherever having a conversation, they end up all pulling out their very best puns and inuendo's and they are all cracking up with each other like they are going to burst when most of the time me and my mates will sit there wondering what the hell is so funny....but like I said it works both ways.

Have to agree with you Sam. I have some very funny female friends. I just think females have a different sense of humour than that of males, also some men think they are funny but in truth just make fools of themselves.

Agree that women do do have a different sense of humour to blokes though.

Yes, you get the odd woman who is good fun but they are few and far between. Most women sit there waiting to be entertained by men while contributing nothing but their pretty face...and the vague possibility of a shag later on.

Over time they have been allowed to get away with it so nature has taken over and stopped producing funny women in the same numbers that our cavemen ancestors would have enjoyed. back then they were probably funny as ****.
