I understand that Ron and Tilly were interested, McCarthy was interested, but Freddy wasn't. I am sorry for getting everyone's hopes up, but believe me, I'm as gutted as the rest of you. And I will never post anything with the tagline 'not just a rumour' until I know for damn sure. I was tempted to run and hide in embarrassment, but I want to be on here tomorrow when we're talking about a great win over those Leeds w@nkers.

Well there was no harm in trying to get him was there? I guess we are just too small a club for him to consider lowering himself to our level now that he has moved on to bigger (the wages at least!) and better things :(

Still glad he's not coming,i want Tilson + Ron to pursue the original ideals of signing guys who want to play for this club,fairly local and who won't upsticks and run for the first dollar bill waved at him,like JCR.

The first sign of the "stroller" element coming back into his game and i would've got on his back for one.

My memories of Eastwood are tarnished enough already with that last 4/5 months he gave us.It was every Southend fan's dream to stay in the Chumpionship last season and our one shining light faded with the promise of bright lights.

Well always thought it was a long shot, even if I did get my hopes up.

As you say the lesson to be learnt is to not post information as factual when its not.

The 'fact' here was probably we were looking at bringing him back, not that it was done.

Ah well, it would have been amazing but we do need to look at permanent options.

Well done though i say for bringing us transfer prospects,this is a messageboard and rumours which to the best of your knowledge are true must be put up here.
Hear something,we wanna know about it.
I was standing listening to my Spurs mate last year when we were at Newmarket and he was on the phone to Ray Parlour getting decent tips on the gee-gees and before he said goodbye my mate asked him if he was signing for anyone and he said yeh-Southend!!!
Naturally i had to share this with SZ but was made to feel a mug for it later.
Which was wrong in my eyes as i just told what i'd heard.
