Anyone rowed before ??

Went away with work on a offsite **** up at the weekend and inbetween getting ****ed and trying to pull the ultra butch women of Henley to no avail ( thank god ) * apart from one lad who i'll talk about in a mo , we done a spot of rowing .

Now i didn't think much about it when first found out about it , but must say it was blinding , a lot harder than i expected and we was in a 8 man boat , mixed with 1 experienced youngster and a cox .

We also was being coached by a women who's won silver at the Sydney oymplics ( can't remember her name ) , lovely lady who let us hold the silver medal which i must had was the nuts , she brought along with her , her collection of world championship medals which getting absolutely dwarfed by the size and weight of her olympic medal. frieend , shes my frieeeeend , my rowing frieeend

Anyway although slightly tougher than expected once relatively got the hang of it , we were flying and won our 3 races ....but just wondered if any folk have tried it and what their thoughts were on it .

* the unlucky lad got a sticky finger from one of teh spoony local birds and it wasn't very pleasant , he tried to wash his hand in the sink at a club we was at and the tap handle was snapped off , so he had to go into the toliet and put his hand down the pan whilst flushing it ..........desperate times call for desperate measures .

good Inbetweeners reference. 2 of my housemates at Uni were in the rowing team, and they loved it. Bit too hardcore for me though, they were up at 5.30am twice a week for early morning training

Having spent 4 years at uni in Cambridge, I got in a boat once, after a few beers.... disaster, ended up in the Cam (not for the first or last time).... never again! Think it was shortly after an event that was VERY similar to this <link>

I miss those days!
