Anyone hear Tilly's interview on BBC Essex

He came across a tad arrogant and narky for my liking, not the usual Tilly we all know and love. Was it the 'we can beat Man Utd syndrome, so we're entitled to beat everyone else'?

Also, Nick Alliker asked him a question at one point and Tilly didn't even understand and know what to say. Must say Tilly sounded a bit out of his depth.

A gripe from me about yesterday, why does he persist to keep using subs too late in the game? Tilly moaned after the match about there being 11 tired players out there, so why not change it earlier Tilly? Cole didn't get long enough IMHO!

Gutts was dire in the first half, and wasn't that much better in the second half. I wouldn't be sad to see him go. Shame Jay Smith didn't come on for him.

Also i would have brought Peanut on for Harrold.

Clarke, Hammell, and Gower were my top players yesterday.

And i agree with other posters on here when you say our defence looks much better without Barrett in the team.

Not a great game, but a good point none the less.

Have to disagree, TTK. As has already been posted, Tilly is cheesed off because of the negativity of the interviewer. We have just taken a point off THE form team in the Championship, and the first question is the (pretty dumb one) "is a point good enough?" Alliker then goes on to suggest that the team may have been suffering from a reaction to the Man U game, implying that it wasn't that good a performance. At that point Tilly, far from being out of his depth, is struggling to control his temper - and I don't blame him. Tilly understood only too well!

Arrgghh. Jay Smith would not do any better, I think that should be obvious by now.

Harrold was doing well and has the only physicality we have at the moment without Paynter and Bradbury. We couldn't afford to take him off.

I thought gutts played well in the 2nd half. I would be sad to see him go because we don't have the cover. Plus Jay smith is injured and i believe once he comes round to full fitness you will not see him again.

Heard the interview on the way home, and agree, as above, that Tilly was pi$$ed off withe the manner of the question "Was it an after the Lord Mayor's Show performance" implying that the performance was not good. Which was far from the case against quality Championship opposition.

Interesting that the interview was 'pulled' by BBC Essex shortly after mid-question. I wonder what reaction Tilly gave that was deemed unbroadcastable?

Alliker posed the question, was only a point good enough... The answer, emphatically, should have been NO!!!!!

Preston are second in the table, no denying that, but a point at home is not good enough if you are to remain in this division, end of story.

He was perfectly entitled to ask, what i think is a very fair question, having not won a league game for 14, and Tilly should have said well actually no it isnt, if we are to stay up we need to start winning our home games.

Tilly usually gets a very easy ride from the press and interviewers, so I dont see a problem with him being asked questions like that at all.

I am sorry but some people just have to take a step back and think a bit. Previous 5 league home matches we have shipped in 3 goals per game (Norwich, Cardiff, Coventry, Ipswich & Hull)

With our thin squad depleted with injuries, captain suspended and the form team in town with the England U21 striker am I happy with a point and a clean sheet in the circumstances. Those guys gave everything on Saturday after giving everything and more on Tuesday. JCR is one of the fittest players we have and the poor lad looked dead on his feet in the second half, likewise with Freddie towards the end. God knows how heavy Spinners legs must of felt. I think a point is a point earnt in those circumstances. This saturday fingers crossed Maher will be available, if Bradbury comes through in the reserves he will be available for the bench I suspect, likewise Barrett. Just amazing how 4 days on from the greatest peace of joy anyone has witnessed as a blue the whingers are back

On what evidence?

Don't get me wrong I thought Saturday was a good battling performance against one of the better sides in this division, and a clean sheet as well. However Jay Smith may just have added that vital spark of creativity to a central midfield consisting of a central defender doing his best and a midfielder who looks more out of his depth every time he plays at this level.

Exactly my point too.
