Guys,
I know I don't actually know many of you in person (although I've met a few along the way...)
If anyone fancies helping out a fantastic cause, please read on...
As I'm sure some of you may be aware, for the past five years I've been taking children with disabilities and special needs on a pilgrimage holiday to Lourdes in France with the charity HCPT. All the helpers that come with the group are volunteers and pay for themselves, but the children's fares (£550 per child) are paid for through fundraising by helpers in each group - we also pay for everything when we are out there (from trips to the zoo, ice creams, cafe stops and so on)
And so, to help raise funds to bring children with my group (206) this year, myself and my friend Clare are running the the Great South Run on Sunday 22nd October - 10 miles around the streets of Portsmouth!
This is a huge challenge for me and you can have my word that I have been training very hard and have even cut right down on drinking (not quite given up though!) - I've lost weight, started eating healthily and I'm even doing a practise 10k run on October 1 around Hampton Court! (Its for Cancer Research UK and we will be making a personal donation)
This is a really worthwhile cause and something which is very close to my heart and important to me, so I hope some of you are able to sponsor me -however small you think your donation is, it all adds up.
The *quickest*, *easiest* and *most secure* way to sponsor is through the JustGiving website www.justgiving.com/greatsouthrun206 (where you can also see how much we have raised so far!)
I would like to thank you in advance for you help and support,
Andy/pickledseal
