Any chance of having the North Bank back before we move ?

Is it possible, that for the start of 2007/8 until we move, we can claim the North Bank back ?

Away fans can be accomodated in the South and Roots Hall can go out the way it came in, with the more vocal element returning to their spirtual home. This would certainly be easy if, god forbid we were to go down. It may p1ss off a few of the so-called bigger clubs in the Championship, but so what, it is our ground and we should be able to say a final farewell season (or two) in the best way we know how !

This needs to be done before Season Tickets are thought of for next season, so if you agree, please tell the powers that be.

Doubt it because i had a similar convo with the groundsman a few seasons back and he said they can't because it would cause to many probs for away fans as they would have to go through the same way as home supporters do. So this way the police can control the away supporters.

I agree - the away support can be herded into the south bank that was, thru the top car park entrances - and we can have the North, the West and the East -

it would be fantastic to be back on the North Bank -

would be a very good idea i think. i remember sitting in the north bank when i really young. sat there again last game of last season. think we would much more vocal if it could happen. can this idea be put forward to rm?

Haven't we covered this ground on numerous occassions? Also, going as far as haven't a slip in one of the match day programmes asking whether we would like to have the north bank back, even just for one game, and the response was shocking IIRC.

I can feel Mike's keyboard rattling already...

:)

To preclude that, there is almost zero chance of us doing it. As mentioned, segregation's almost impossible and, frankly given soe of the clubs in this division, you wouldn't want to chance it. The best case scenario seems to be us having a portion of it as we did a coupole of years back but I'd be surprised if we're allowed to do that.

If we go down, we could have the half of North Bank in League 1 just like the last 4 home games in 2005/06 season. If we stay up, the away fans will be packed in North Bank when Norwich, Ipswich & West Ham (hopefully!) visit Root Hall, maybe we get the half of North Bank when Col Ewes visit as they only bring 1000 fans.

shame. would good to have a place for the die hards to sit. get bit bored in south upper.
It would be great if we could get all the useral away fans to sit next to one another and i believe if we done a singing section then that can be achived. (for the new stadium anyway)
:D

There would also be costs involved in sorting out segregation. Why would the club want to waste money when there's a new ground on the imminent horizon?

When the club asked fans a few years ago the response they got was pitifully small & with justification they can say we've been through that. It isn't going to happen.

Oh no!! - Hope XS is out with his toe in the med today, drinking his Mahou and reminding himself the reasons why he moved abroad, or someone is in for a long and painful reply.

Oh and can we not give away the South Stand to away fans thanks.I am quite settled there and whilst I miss the atmosphere of the North Bank I am sure view wise that its a lot worse than my current seat.

but very dull! only the centre lot sing, no one else does!

Fair enough, but moving stands isn't going to change that. There were plenty of times when the atmosphere in the North Bank was shocking - I think some peoples memories are being clouded by the passing of time.
