Anthony Grant

I was very very impressed with him last night, I think people don't give him enough credit.
It's pre season and he was flying in to tackles, winning the ball with ease at times, some of his runs where brilliant, and he really did look committed.
He ran himself into the ground in the end, and one of his last passes where after he put it past Savage and tiresomely passed it back to Johnny and basically collapsed.

He is one of the only ones left from the past few seasons, and he really looked up for the fight that is League 2.

I know it was only pre season, but he made me feel hope, and made me feel quite proud to be in the Hall again.

Quality.

Absolutely superb last night yes. Looks a different player in this formation. Sheena holding and Grant all over the park looking for the ball.

He isnt the best on the ball or doing much in advanced positions, but he knows his weaknesses and keeps within himself (i.e. you dont see him try anything flash - though the 35 yard volley last night wasnt so bad!).

Top player and in this form, could be playing CCC quite easily.

Probably the only player from last season he could play at a higher level and so far he's stuck around, really hope he stays as keeping him would be like a new signing.

He was superb last night, think he ran out of gas in the end but that was totally understandable.

Got to agree, saw Grant in quite a different light last night, thought he was committed and really bossed the midfield. I do hope that we can keep hold of him for the coming season.

Can only echo what you all have said.

I am very concerned that we will lose him. There were a few managers and scouts in last night and they cannot fail to have been impressed.

We hold on to him, we will possibly have the best centre midfield partnership in League Two.

Just hope he wasn't trying to impress one of the visiting scouts/managers.

Of all the players to leave this summer, his loss would hurt the most.

Let's make sure he knows how much we want him to stay!

I thought our midfield looked very balanced yesterday, my only 'criticism' if you can even call it that is that neither is very creative, however Easton was playing some nice balls through to the wingers.

Im not sure with Grant going forward he will emulate the Guttridge or Bailey type role, however the two of them are infinitely more creative than the McCormack/JFC combo of last season !

I too am amazed that he's still here, and will remain unconvinced that he isnt leaving until we kick off the first game of the season! sure he has his weaknessess but his strengths are without question, and always a 10 for effort, even when he played in defence last season! makings of SUFC legend, and lets face it, for most of us the only face we will recognise!
