Anthony Grant...

Rob Noxious

Retro Supremo⭐
...was very impressive at Hereford today, looking very composed on the ball and involved in various ways, either breaking up Hereford's play and/or starting up moves of our own. He is playing with a lot of confidence and it is heartening to see him overcome his inconsistency of earlier this season. A difficult decision for Tilly methinks as to who to drop from the centre of midfield with Macca available again- on today's showing, it should be JFC but we know he doesn't like to change a winning side...

Good point. I'd like to hear how Betsy played because I found out that he committed the most fouls (5). I think Macca and JFC are a good pair in midfield because Macca is more attacking while JFC is more defensive. I believe that if JFC improves his passing then he will be a much better player.

jfc on the bench macca and grant in the middle, I am also delighted for betsy to be back in the first eleven after a bad spell

Most of those were committed in frustration after he'd given the ball away cheaply and tried to get it back.

I wasn't there yesterday, but I had Grant as MOM against Brighton, and I've been very impressed overall since he moved back into the middle. I think that it's just a classic case of a player taking a little time to adjust to the pace of fully competitive games and learn the habits of his teammates. His ability has always been evident - it speaks volumes that Chelsea thought it worth keeping him on for as long as they did. If he can maintain his current confidence and keep his nose clean then we've got one hell of a player on our hands, and one acquired on a free transfer at that.

Anthony was excellent yesterday, think he won every tackle he had to make and used the ball well. Man of the match for sure.

Check out page 7 of the Sunday Times: "To have and to hold: Discipline and quick brains essential for key midfield role".

It does include a quote from the illiterate Col Ewe manager though.

Surprised everyones forgotten his one too many touches on the ball when he should pass it earlier. But yeah another good game from him.
